Medical Waste is a growing challenge to countries around the world. Until recently there were few options available without spending millions of dollars to safely destroy medical waste. There is a better way, and over the last 12 months in Baluchistan in conjunction with local government and waste businesses we have developed a solution that will not only resolve medical waste issues moving forward, but it will also be used in the clean-up of waste from a 10km catchment area. This project was delivered on time and within budget and formed part of a much larger tender that was delivered in 2018 – 2019.
Medical waste requires to be disposed of in a quick and efficient way to limit the risk of contamination from any hazardous waste and to increase the biosecurity for all involved. The model supplied for this project, was the i8M-120 with an additional Venturi wet scrubber, this has the benefit of being able to burn a wide variety of materials in one unit. The i8-120 also benefits from a top-loading design making it very easy to load waste and increase usability. It has a large capacity and is easy to maintain which makes it perfect for operations such as this. The project has now been up and running for over 12 months and has been a great success for the local community. The local residents have seen a huge decrease in general waste and more especially local clinics and hospitals have been able to dispose of their waste in a quick and effective manner.
