Pollution Control Technology

Providing a breath of fresh air through intelligent hot gas filtration

Inciner8 offers large pollution control systems for incineration that provide efficient hot gas filtration.

Their filter technology is designed to remove nanogram-sized particles, ensuring best-in-class performance. Here is how their filtration system works:

We have three methods for controlling the emissions from our incinerators ensuring they operate to the highest UK, EU and global standards. Essentially, we treat the smoke to remove all particles and dangerous gasses seeing clear, warm and odourless air leaving the chimney. The emissions produced cause no harm to the atmosphere, air quality or neighbouring community and wildlife.

All of our machines will come with one of our three pollution control systems as standard in the form of either,
1. A secondary Chamber
2. The Venturi System
3. The PCS Enhanced Filter

The incinerator emissions control system solution proposed  to you will depend on the machine you require, waste type and volume.

Secondary chamber

All our systems include afterburner technology in the form of a secondary combustion chamber. This serves as an integrated form of pollution control. The secondary chamber helps to eliminate dioxins, furans, VOCs, and CO. The released gasses are destroyed under a high temperature-controlled environment. As the waste self-ignites, the gaseous components are transferred to the secondary combustion chamber where gasses are retained at temperature levels of 850C + to reach complete combustion. In many instances, this allows the operator to achieve a clean burn with no smoke, and no smell.

Venturi

Wet gas scrubbing system option. This complements the secondary chamber. The chimney stack that would usually exit to the atmosphere from the secondary chamber, would now be connected to the additional venturi gas scrubbing system. This system utilizes pressurised water and is particularly useful at eliminating particulates.

PCS + Heat exchanger

Our most advanced option consists of 300+ ceramic filter elements to allow for the complete filtration of all pollutants as per UK/EU/US standards. Only compatible with I8-200, I8-250, I8-500, I8-700, I8-1000 – The configuration includes a cylindrical heat exchanger which is designed to cool the gasses down to sub 400C– the gaseous components are then treated via chemical dosing of powdered elements such as sodium bicarb, hydrated lime and activated carbon.

Heat Exchanger

1. Filter Elements: Inciner8 uses micro-porous elements constructed in-house using bespoke filtration media. These elements are capable of removing particles down to the sub-micron size.

2. Filter Vessel: Within the filter vessel, there are clean and dirty compartments separated by a header plate. The hot gas is drawn through the filter medium from the outside to the inside. As the gases pass through the filter, particulates are removed from the gas stream and form a filter cake on the outer surface of the filter element.

3. Reverse Jet Cleaning: The filter cake is automatically cleaned using a reverse jet cleaning process. A short pulse of high-pressure gas is fired down the clean side of the filter element, dislodging the particles from the filter surface. These particles are then discharged through the hopper outlet for collection and disposal.

4. Particle Collection: The solid particles (dust) and neutralization additives are collected on the outer surface of the filter media, forming a particle cake. The filter elements are unclogged by injecting compressed air against the current, causing the particle cake to detach without emitting particles into the clean fumes compartment.

5. Particle Disposal: The detached solid particles (dust + additives) are recovered by gravity in the hopper and can be evacuated in the ashtray for proper disposal.

6. Clean Fumes: The cleaned fumes exit the filtration system with a dust level typically less than 1 mg/Nm3, ensuring high-quality air emissions.

Additionally, Inciner8 offers optional thermal insulation and electrical tracing for the filter frame to prevent condensation on the walls when using acid or special fuels.

Overall, Inciner8’s hot gas filtration system provides efficient and automated cleaning, reducing downtime and costs while ensuring effective pollution control in incineration processes.
